Mega Man costume looks powerful!

Kevin's kid-sized Mega Man costume in-progress is looking impressive - in particular, the megabuster/gun light effects. -
The Mega Buster was another important part of the costume... I could have just done two gloves, but that would have been lame. Anyways, I liked Mr Wilsons idea of using tupperware for the construction, I just decided to take it to the next level. Read on for my steps and final product.
- Halloween Costumes - Mega Buster [via Neatorama]

Controlling a Sega Mega Drive with MIDI

Sebastian's work interfacing with old Sega hardware for sound synthesis seems to be paying off - and the results sound quite nice -
In this video, the Sega Mega Drive II is controlled via the MIDI keyboard controller. Various parameters can be controlled from the keyboard, as one can hear in the video.
- Sega Mega Drive MIDI Keyboard Video

His research even brings the iconic blue hedgehog under musical control.

Halloween games - Braaaaiiinnnsss . . .

Defective Yeti (Matthew Baldwin, one of my favorite bloggers, funny and smart) has once again graced his faithful readers with a three part review of Halloween games - the first post is about zombie games. I think it's neat that one of them, Zombie in my Pocket, is a print-and-play.

Last Night on Earth: The Zombie Game: Though a relatively recent addition to the genre (it came out last year), the growing consensus is that this is the best zombie game on the market. LNoE puts some players in the role of Heroes and the rest as Zombies, fighting tooth and nail (and, of course, chainsaw) in the heart of a small town. The best thing about LNoE is it's replayability: the game comes with five different scenarios (with more available online), each of the playable Heroes is unique (the Hot Nurse can heal, the Sheriff always has a revolver, etc.), and the rulebook includes an "Advanced" section in case the basic game just doesn't include enough dynamite for your liking. Plus, an expansion was just released, ensuring enough variability for many Halloweens to come.

All three parts are up - zombies are here, vampires and witches here, and "miscellaneous malevolence" here.

"Interference Laser Games" is an interactive game that is controlled by a laser pointer and can be aimed at any surface that the game is projected on. Check out the video to see this working with games rannging from space invaders to pong. Pretty cool, although it's pretty much the same as using a mouse minus the tactile feedback.

Episode #157 - Press Vs Community Roundtable

Last week I was invited to the Mercenaries 2 Community Day event that took place in LA, California at Pandemic Studios. After the event, I recorded a "Press VS Community" roundtable discussion featuring Deaconblade from (U360), Trina (Gamingangels), Vicious (Talkingaboutgames) & Ryan (Marvel).

This year 2008 has been a big challenge not only for GTR but the community in general. Why gaming companies are changing by not working with indy sites? Are there too many gaming podcasts & blogs? Is this "community" gone too commercial? Are we community or press?
Listen to what we all had to say on this roundtable & let us know your feedback.

百家讲坛在线观看

welcome to come my website,

first i'll introduce u a good website"my blog"

there are many china tranditional online video named "百家讲坛"("the Lecture Room")

often player on 12:45am cctv10

"mms://" link

(not youtobe )

you can downland for free

i think u will be satisfied

the website is http://cydabing.blogcn.com

thank you

iintroduction

CCTV's hit history program "Lecture Room" has helped Chinese culture find a shortcut to Rome in a way, says Lao Yu, a Beijing Youth Daily critic. The lecture room, originally a place to kill time, has now become a holy land for spreading the Chinese classics.

In famous writer Yu Qiuyu, Chinese culture has found its churchman. The churchman, in turn, has also discovered culture. Those who buy classical literary pieces tend to do it just for decoration. They would rather wait for the appearance of a "churchman" than read the novels themselves. Liu Xinwu is a good churchman for "A Dream of Red Mansions"," Yi Zhongtian for "Three Kingdoms" and Kong Qingdong for" Lu Xun."

"The emergence of cultural churchmen changes the way of spreading Chinese culture. I call those who give lectures the "cultural nursemaid".They have to eat the 'grass' of culture, then feed the students with their milk," said Lao Yu.

The reasons for "cultural nursemaid" can be concluded as follows.

1. The result of years of cultural faults. The storm-like revolutions in China has prevented inheriting Chinese culture directly.

2.Utilitarianism. In an English-dominant and money-valuing society, Chinese culture is neglected. When national culture characters are blurred, the instinct of needing Chinse culture rebounds.

3. Long-term seclusion from culture. The eroding interest in reading makes it hard to understand what our ancestors told us. It's necessary to popularize the classics again.

4. Lack of patience. In a fast-speed soceity, people have no time and patience to absorb old and new ideas.

The "cultural nursemaid" spead the glamor of Chinese culture in their own way. They have narrowed the gap between ordinary people and traditional Chinese culture.
